Matthew McConaughey Launches New Clothing Line, JKL

Actor, philanthropist, and father-of-three Matthew McConaughey has a new title to put under his belt: fashion designer! The star recently partnered with Canadian-based clothing manufacturer Grand National Apparel to launch JKL, a sportswear collection derived from McConaughey’s active lifestyle and philosophy of life.

The line features technically-advanced fabrics, performance-oriented details, and a relaxed, casual aesthetic designed to easily transition between day and casual evening. The line also donates to a charitable cause! A portion of sales supports McConaughey’s just keep livin Foundation a non-profit organization that implements after-school fitness and wellness programs in inner-city high schools.

"Matthew's very active lifestyle is what led him to the idea for a fashion-forward, functional men's clothing line that blends the fabric and styling of performance apparel with that of everyday menswear," said John Frierson of Creative Artists Agency (CAA), who brokered the deal with Grand National Apparel for McConaughey. "There remains a big expanse between casual menswear and performance brands at retail, and JKL, fueled by Grand National's expertise and capabilities, is poised to take advantage of this big growth opportunity."

In an interview McConaughey stated the meaning behind the brand's name.

“JKL stands for just keep livin. In 1992, my father moved on and just keep livin came to be,” Matthew shared. ” It was about keeping his spirit alive and remembering the things he taught me. The tag line is a compass for me; it is how I approach life.”

“No matter where the road takes you, no matter what’s up ahead, you’ve got to just keep going,” McConaughey said. “That’s a big part of what we try to show the kids through our foundation and it’s a huge part of the JKL brand.”

‘Scandal’ Season Finale Review: Dad?

“Dad?”
Wait, what?

For fans anticipating a shocking yes, scandalous season finale to “Scandal” you weren’t disappointed. True to form, there were many twist and turns and a jaw-dropping finish. Between Billy Chambers, divorce plans, sex tapes, Baby Huck and the redemption of David Rosen, our heads never stopped spinning.

At episode’s end, it seems all is well for Olivia, the white hat is literally back on and she is ready to put her star-crossed relationship with Fitz behind her as she suits up in workout gear ready to go for a calm run.

As soon as she steps outside she is swarmed by reporters and paparazzi demanding to know if she is sleeping with the President.

Liv has now found herself involved in the scandal of the century that she came from escaping.

She is then escorted into the car where she finds herself sitting across e from her father. So the question remains who leaked the affair? Was it daddy dearest? Was it Mellie who thought she had lost Fitz forever?

We will have to wait on the edge of their seats until “Scandal” resumes next September. It’s going to be a long, long summer.
